Election of HOSPEEM Decision Making Bodies
(Brussels, 03 June 2010) During the meeting of Administration Council held yesterday in Brussels, HOSPEEM members elected the decision making bodies of the association. The Administration Council appointed the components of the Management Committee, which has an administrative function within the association. Furthermore Ms Marta Branca (ARAN) and Mr Miroslav Jiránek (Association of Czech and Moravian Hospital) were appointed from the Management Committee for the posts of Vice-Secretary Generals of HOSPEEM for three years term. Now HOSPEEM Secretary General/ Chief Executive, Mr Godfrey Perera was re-elected and appointed for a three years term. Mr Perera said “I’m glad that our members gave me the opportunity to continue my work in HOSPEEM for further three years. This has been a fruitful year we together with our partner EPSU have managed to achieve important results in the hospital sector. The most important being the agreement on the prevention from sharp injuries. The Council of Ministers agreed on 8th of March 2010 to transpose into a European Directive. This Directive will become national legislation in the 27 Member States. HOSPEEM will continue to fight for high quality health services in the European Union and to work for an effective and safe healthcare environment for both workers and patients.”
